Sorry for the lack of updates. I don't have an appointment with Shinji again until next month. I'm anxious to get started again! For now, check out this great gallery of tattoo pics, mostly pretty old: http://photos.denverpost.com/mediacenter/2010/09/tattoo-trends/

Hi Mike,
Nice blog, it's very interesting to follow along your progress and see all of the work that has taken shape. Do you know where Shinji's new shop will be?...Does he have a website or email address?
Good luck with the rest of your tattoo, looks great so far!

Hi Joe,
Thanks for the comments. Some time ago Shinji told me he was working on a website, but I don't have any details yet - when I do I'll be sure to post them here. His new studio is in the Lower East Side of Manhattan around Rivington, sorry I don't remember the address - I haven't been there for an appointment yet myself, I only had a quick peek when it was still being prepped to open (and the sake I was drinking that night makes my memory hazy ;). My first appointment has been pushed back a month, so it'll be awhile before I'm there again. Since it's a little private studio that doesn't take walk-in traffic, I'm not even sure how much the address will be advertised...
Hey Mike,
Thanks for the info! Yeah I doubt he'll be advertising it. I'm sure he gets enough business as it is. I've been trying to track him down since he left NYA. I'm looking for a Japanese artist "close" to home - NYC is still an 8 hour drive haha.
Do you live in NYC? I saw the stats you had for your tattoo so far - what was the date you started it?
Joe - I live in Brooklyn and I've been seeing Shinji over 6 yrs.
Do you know how to contact Shinji now? I have a phonenumber but cann`t reach him.
Ken
Hi Ken - all I have is probably the same phone number. I believe Shinji is out of the country at the moment, back in Japan. This may be why you cannot reach him. My recent appointment was rescheduled for "sometime in November", so I do know he plans to be back in NYC by then. Hope that helps!
Hi Mike
Thanks a lot. I really like the work of Shinji and I enjoyed reading your blog. Shinji just started a sleeve for me this spring and I look forward to the next appoinment.
Ken
